He who desires but acts not, breeds pestilence
A cheery little quote from Blake at the start of a cheery little novel, just sent to the agent.
All God's Children: 93,000 words on unrequited lesbian love, war, religion, sex and terminal illness. Plus a few dead babies thrown in for good measure. It can't help but be a bestseller, surely? I have 35,000 words spare in case it needs to be longer. Film rights available.
I shall require careful handling in the next few weeks.

Marvellous, dahling, marvellous! Now: while you're waiting until your incredibly succesful and hearbreakingly depreessing book will be turned into an Oscar winning movie, can you pleeeeaaase start writing something that you're best at???
COMEDY.
Maz'l Tov!
D of C
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
But can you not recycle the surplus 35k words? I'm reminded of the Morecambe & Wise joke, when Eric is criticised by Andrew Preview for playing Greig's Piano Concerto by Greig incorrectly: "You're playing all the wrong notes!"
"No", said Morecambe: "I'm playing all the right notes. Just not necessarily in the right order."
Surely those 35k words can be re-ordered to form the first third of your exciting Orange-winning second novel? Waste not, want not!
congratulations darling... YAY... the beginning of a long success..
While you wait... get cracking with the comedy baby... If you need a renewal on the guardian soulmate, I'm very happy to sponsor it... Let's take the piss out of the world darling.. Now you are the queen.
forbidden lake (the true story)
am writing the spin off.
what REALLY happened that day
so there.
pestilence festilence.
I think this is all marvellous news. Yah. Jolly good another novel about dead babies, lesbian unrequited love, war, and all that stuff. Juliette Binoche in a white, tight outfit. Her breasts slightly protruding from the white shirt. Yah. No contact. No oozing. That kind-a stuff.
Now we want the blogging novel... and a large launch party for All God's Children, natch, where we can all be debauched...
I thought your deadline was 12 months ago?
Can I please order 1 X audio book and 1 X in braille?
can't wait to read it!
